Carroll County Sheriff's Office serves Mount Carroll, IL. The Office of Sheriff dates back in history to old world Europe and was brought to this country by early settlers where it has evolved into a multi-task agency. The Sheriff's Office is staffed by twenty eight personnel that investigate complaints of criminal activity, operate a county jail, provide emergency 9-1-1 dispatch to persons in need of assistance, and ensure security of the courts and other offices in the courthouse.
