With a population of approximately 98,000, Tracy is a railroad town located in San Joaquin County. They are committed to providing the finest law enforcement services while upholding the values of the department; Service, Integrity, and Excellence. The City of Tracy is located inside a geographic triangle formed by Interstate 205 on the north side of the city, Interstate 5 to the east, and Interstate 580 to the southwest; this has given rise to Tracy’s motto, now recorded on the city’s website: “Think Inside the Triangle”. Tracy is a growing community near the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley. While Tracy is the second most populated city in San Joaquin County, the town is very much a big city with small-town feel with a quaint downtown. We still hold homecoming parades downtown for every high school, and the City Council is very responsive to the needs of its residents. Non-emergency: (209) 831-6550. Dial 911 for emergencies.
