Amherst Police Department

Chamberlin I welcome you to the Amherst Police Department Web Site. Our mission is to provide a high level of safety and police services for the 131,000 residents of Amherst, the largest suburb of Buffalo, located in upstate Western New York. We also provide police services for the Village of Williamsville, which is located within the town boundaries. We take a proactive approach to policing our community. In doing so, we emphasize efforts to reach out to, and partner with, our community as we work to resolve public safety concerns and quality of life issues that may arise. This proud distinction has been achieved through the hard work and dedication of all our men and women, past and present, who commit themselves daily to serve their community in keeping with our core values of: Excellence, Integrity, Service, and Professionalism. As Chief of Police, I am proud of the fine men and women who serve this wonderful community on behalf of the Amherst Police Department. Non-emergency: (716) 689-1311. Dial 911 for emergencies.
