Our department is made up of 115 sworn officers and 40 professional staff members, all committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of Bessemer’s growing and diverse population. As our city continues to expand and thrive, we are actively seeking new officers to join our team to help meet the evolving needs of our residents. With nearly 30,000 people calling Bessemer home and key traffic routes like I-20/59, I-459, Highway 150, and Highway 11 running through our city, we take pride in protecting and serving all who live, work, and travel here.
