Bevill State Police Department

The Bevill State Police Department is the campus law enforcement agency for Bevill State Community College in west-central Alabama, serving the college's campuses in Sumiton, Jasper, Fayette and Hamilton and its Pickens County educational center. Its officers are certified by the Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission and hold the full powers of a state peace officer on college property and the areas immediately next to it. The department provides police and environmental safety services to students, employees and visitors, with central dispatch based at the Jasper campus and dispatchers on duty whenever officers are working. Campus police join student services staff and maintenance supervisors in regular security checks of college facilities, and the college publishes annual campus safety and crime statistics under the federal Clery Act. In an emergency, dial 911.
