The Cameron County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is the county-level law enforcement agency serving the residents and visitors of Cameron County, Texas. Headquartered at 7300 Old Alice Road in Olmito, the Sheriff’s Office provides law enforcement and public safety services throughout the county, including patrol, criminal investigations, emergency response, communications, specialized operations, and detention services. The agency’s stated mission is to serve and protect the citizens and visitors of Cameron County while maintaining a high degree of integrity, accountability, and service. CCSO maintains a broad operational structure that includes patrol and investigative functions, a Criminal Investigations Division, SWAT, a Training Division, communications/dispatch, and detention operations. The agency also operates county detention facilities, including the Carrizales-Rucker Detention Center, and provides services related to inmate visitation, property, trust accounts, and the inmate roster. The Sheriff's Office supports specialized public-safety initiatives, including a Family Violence Task Force, community engagement activities, crime prevention efforts, and coordination with other law enforcement and emergency-service agencies throughout Cameron County. CCSO is also one of the primary public safety answering points served by the Cameron County Emergency Communication District. CCSO additionally provides civil law enforcement functions, including sheriff's sales and other civil-process responsibilities, and maintains specialized capabilities for high-risk incidents through its SWAT Division. Its Training Division supports departmental training and provides information regarding use of the agency's firearms range by other law enforcement agencies.
