Central Marin Police Authority

Central Marin Police Authority is the consolidated law enforcement agency for the City of Larkspur and the Towns of Corte Madera and San Anselmo in Marin County, California, along with portions of unincorporated Greenbrae. It was created in January 2013, when the three communities signed a joint powers agreement merging the Twin Cities Police Authority, which had served Larkspur and Corte Madera, with the San Anselmo Police Department. The authority now provides full police services to roughly 35,000 residents from a main station in Larkspur and a second station in San Anselmo. Its workforce of about 50 full-time employees includes 42 sworn officers supported by records, evidence, property and community service staff. Policy oversight rests with the Central Marin Police Authority Council, made up of two elected representatives from each member council, while a management committee of the city and town managers handles administration and the Chief of Police directs daily operations. Anyone looking for the former San Anselmo Police Department or Twin Cities Police Department will find those services delivered by this authority today.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau (ACS 2023), Larkspur city, CA has an estimated population of 12,856.
