The department has general law enforcement authority and responsibility within Charleston County. The department provides complete and continuous law enforcement and security services to customers and the community. In addition, the department works closely with the Transportation Security Administration, the Federal Aviation Administration, and all other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies in support of our mission and goal of protecting and serving the community and customers that use our airports, providing a safe and secure environment, and keeping customer service as a top priority.
