The Crawfordville Police Department is the municipal law-enforcement listing for the City of Crawfordville, the county seat of Taliaferro County in east-central Georgia, about 90 miles east of Atlanta. The city's official website describes Crawfordville as a small community named for William Harris Crawford. The Georgia Municipal Association reports an official 2020 Census population of 479 and lists City Hall mailing as P.O. Box 8, Crawfordville, GA 30631. Georgia crash-reporting records assign Crawfordville Police Dept. ORI 1310100 (GA13101). The City of Crawfordville's official Police page states that the Crawfordville Police Department has suspended operations and that Taliaferro County Sheriff Tia McWilliams provides police services in the city. The city's Departments page likewise says police services are provided by the Taliaferro County Sheriff. The non-emergency number 706-456-2345 published on the city's police page is the sheriff's office line, also listed by Taliaferro County government and the sheriff's website; it is not a separate municipal police desk. City Hall remains at 110 Broad Street, P.O. Box 8, Crawfordville, Georgia 30631, telephone 706-456-2605, email [email protected]. This Georgia municipal listing is not the Crawfordville, Florida area served by the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office.
