Cuming County Sheriff's Office

Cuming County Sheriff's Office is the sheriff's agency for Cuming County, Nebraska, based in West Point. Its officers hold law-enforcement authority across the whole county, including every city, village and township inside it. A staff of six, five commissioned officers and an office manager, covers emergency and routine calls, self-initiated enforcement, criminal and traffic-crash investigations, and coroner duties. More specialized work includes fugitive apprehension, court security, drug and major-crime investigations, extraditing prisoners from other states and counties, crime prevention education, and service of civil process, which requires a prepaid deposit. The office works alongside the Bancroft, Beemer, Wisner and West Point police departments, the III Corps Drug Task Force, the Nebraska State Patrol and the Game and Parks Commission.
